Thomas Laughlin
Thomas Laughlin is the owner and lead investigator at Laughlin’s Investigative Solutions, bringing over three decades of law enforcement and investigative experience to his clients. Based in Sarasota, Florida, Thomas began his career as a Corrections Officer and Supervisor with the Sarasota Sheriff’s Office, then served as a Police Officer and K-9 Officer with the Bradenton Police Department, and later as a Police Officer and Homicide Detective with the Sarasota Police Department.
He holds a Private Investigator License and has completed extensive specialized training in areas such as arson investigations, homicide, violent crime behavior analysis, and tactical operations, with certifications from agencies including the FBI, US Marshals, and Florida State Fire College. Throughout his distinguished career, Thomas has been recognized with numerous awards and commendations, including the Life Saving Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and several letters of commendation from law enforcement agencies and the FBI. He is dedicated to providing thorough, professional investigative services, leveraging his expertise and commitment to excellence for every client.
Sean O'Leary
Sean O’Leary is a U.S. Army veteran. He served with great distinction as a tank crewman and commander in the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment. This unit is one of the U.S. Army’s oldest and most storied. Sean brings over three decades of law enforcement experience. He worked with the Bradenton Police Department, Manchester, NH Police Department, and the New Hampshire State Police. Sean specializes in traffic crash investigations, crash reconstruction, and forensic crash analysis.
He completed advanced training in crash investigations, reconstruction, crime scene photography, forensic mapping, and crash data retrieval. Sean has investigated thousands of crashes. He has handled more than 400 fatal crash cases.
Courts in New Hampshire and Florida have recognized Sean as an expert witness. He has testified in both civil and criminal cases. Sean previously belonged to the Professional Society of Forensic Mapping. He currently appears as an expert in Crash Data Retrieval on the Crash Data Group website. Sean regularly instructs and speaks at seminars and police academies. He shares his expertise in crash data retrieval and forensic analysis.
Sean participates in professional associations. He supports driver education, occupant protection, and impaired driving awareness initiatives in both states. Throughout his career, Sean has earned multiple awards and recognitions. He is known for his outstanding service and dedication to public safety. His peers and the legal community respect him for his investigative excellence, leadership, and contributions to law enforcement training.
